Annotateshot for Mac Support
Annotateshot is a macOS menu bar app for capturing, annotating, copying, saving, and pinning screenshots.
Getting Started
- Open Annotateshot from the macOS menu bar.
- Choose a capture action, select an area or window, then annotate the result in the editor.
- Use the toolbar to add arrows, shapes, numbers, text, highlights, mosaic, magnifier, spotlight, emoji, and cursor stamps.
- Copy the final image, save it as a PNG, or pin it in a floating window.
Permissions
Annotateshot uses macOS Screen Recording permission only to capture the selected screen area. Screenshots and annotations are processed locally on your Mac.
If capture does not work, open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, then Screen Recording, and make sure Annotateshot is allowed.
Saving Files
When you choose a save folder, macOS may ask you to grant folder access. Annotateshot stores this access using a macOS security-scoped bookmark so it can keep saving to your chosen folder after relaunch.
